## What this page is

The application form for the open roles at Vel Labs, served at `/careers/apply`. Every role's page
links here with the role already chosen, as `/careers/apply?role=<slug>` — for example
`/careers/apply?role=product-intern`. The roles themselves are listed on the Careers page,
`/careers` (its Markdown: `/careers.md`), and each has its own page under `/careers/`.

## The form

One form, sent with `POST` to `/careers/applications` as `multipart/form-data`. Every field is
required.

- **Role** (`role`): the slug of one of the open roles — `associate-product-manager`,
  `product-intern`, `product-analytics-intern` or `applied-ai-intern`.
- **Full name** (`fullName`): 2 to 120 characters.
- **Email address** (`email`): an address with something before the `@`, a domain after it and a
  dot in the domain.
- **Phone number** (`phone`): 7 to 20 characters of digits, spaces and `+ - ( ) .`, with at least
  7 digits.
- **Why do you want to work at Vel Labs?** (`why`): one paragraph, 20 to 2,000 characters. Line breaks
  are read as spaces.
- **What is one thing that makes you special?** (`special`): the same rule — one paragraph, 20 to
  2,000 characters.
- **Resume** (`resume`): a PDF, up to 50 MB. A form sent without the page's script carries the file
in the request itself, which is limited to 4 MB; with the script, the file goes straight to
storage and the 50 MB limit applies.

The page says what was wrong with each field, beside the field, and keeps the form on the page so
it can be put right and sent again.

## What happens to an application

Each application is stored as it arrives — the answers above with the time it was sent, and the
resume beside them — and the Vel Labs team is notified at once. The team reads every application
and replies to the email address given. Nothing from the form is published or shared outside the
team.

Once it is in, the page says so: "Thank you — your application is in. We read every one, and
we’ll be in touch."

## Applying by email

Anyone who would rather not use the form can email careers@vellabs.in with a link to their work and
a short note on why they would be good at the role. Email is also the way to send a resume larger
than the form accepts, and the way to apply while online applications are not yet open.
