## What this page is

This is the home page of Vel Labs, served at `/`. It is a single scrolling page that opens with a
primary navigation in the hero. In order, it contains:

1. An opening band showing the Vel Labs wordmark against a sky.
2. The hero: "The next evolution in technology is you." — the page's only `<h1>` — followed by
   the line "Vel Labs is building intelligence that knows you whole, and helps you live the life
   you keep meaning to." Above it sits the primary navigation: Manifesto (`#manifesto`) and
   Research (`#research`), which scroll to those sections of this page, then Team (`/team`) and
   Careers (`/careers`). On a phone the links fold into a menu behind a button of six dots, which adds Sola
   (`#sola`, the notebook's Meet Sola spread) after Manifesto.
3. **We are wired to connect** — a manifesto, read a line at a time: to the people we love, the
   world around us and the stories we carry. Yet most of us are known in pieces and helped in
   pieces too — the call you keep meaning to make, the thing you want to start, the person you're
   so close to becoming. Somewhere between "I wish" and "I will," we lose the thread. Technology
   hasn't helped us find it: it gave us more connection than ever and left us feeling less known;
   it learned what we search, watch and click, and never learned who we are. The next evolution
   isn't a smarter technology but the one that knows you — not here to replace the people you
   love but to bring you back to them. When we make space for what matters, we make more of life.
   More present. More connected. More you. It closes on "Intelligence that knows you whole." and
   two figures reaching for one another.
4. **On Being Known** — a research notebook, "Research Notes Vol. 01": what it takes to know
   someone. It opens as the page is scrolled and closes again past its last page. It fans past a
   few pages of working notes on Sola to two spreads:
   - **The Building Blocks** — our beliefs, in six ideas, and the first thing we built from them:
     Behaviour, Memory, Continuity, Presence, Relationship and Value.
   - **Meet Sola** — our first step: we're exploring what it means to be known — to remember,
     to understand, to stay — and Sola is where that exploration begins. Our first product, Sola
     is a companion that gets to know you over time: it remembers what matters to you, notices
     what you keep meaning to do, and helps you follow through. With a waitlist sign-up and Sola
     waving hello.
5. **In good company.** — we're backed by investors who believe technology should know you
   whole: Arkam Ventures (https://arkamvc.com/), White Venture Capital

6. **From the Lab** — a running account of how we think about memory, personal intelligence, and
   what it means to be known by something: three areas of work, each with a "Read more" link to
   its article:
   Human-AI Relationships (`/research/human-ai-relationships`), Memory, Context & Continuity
   (`/research/memory-context-continuity`) and Personal Intelligence
   (`/research/personal-intelligence`); each has its Markdown at the same path with `.md`.
7. A footer, the same on every page: "Exploring a personal relationship with intelligence, we
   build technology that remembers, understands, and grows with you." Two columns of links:
   Manifesto, Research and Sola, which point at this page's sections, and Team (`/team`); then
   Careers (`/careers`), Contact, Privacy (`/privacy`) and Terms (`/terms`), where Contact is not
   yet a link. Then "Come say hello" with Vel Labs on X, LinkedIn and Instagram, and "© 2026 Vel
   Labs."

## How this site is built

Every route is rendered on the server for each request (Astro with the Node adapter). The HTML you
receive is complete without JavaScript: the only browser script is a progressive-enhancement motion
layer that never produces content.

If you are an AI agent or a crawler, prefer these documents over scraping the HTML:
