## What this page is

The Terms of Use of Vel Labs, served at `/terms`, last updated September 2026. They cover
vellabs.in and any Vel Labs research or waitlist pages; by using the site you agree to them. The
Sola app will have its own terms when it launches. Words in square brackets are details still to
be filled in.

## The terms

1. **Who we are.** Vel Labs is a research and product company building personal intelligence.
   "We," "us," and "Vel Labs" mean [legal entity name and registration], Bengaluru, India.
2. **What this site is.** A place to read about what we're building, follow our research, join the
   waitlist for Sola, and get in touch. It is not a product, and nothing on it is a promise of when
   or whether a product will ship, what it will do, or what it will cost.
3. **The waitlist.** Joining the waitlist means you'd like to hear from us once when Sola is ready.
   It does not reserve a place, guarantee access, create an account, or form a contract for any
   product. You can leave at any time using the link in any email we send.
4. **Using the site.** You may read, link to, and share what's here. You may not: copy our writing,
   illustrations, or the Sola character for your own product, brand, or training data; scrape the
   site or submit automated traffic; try to access anything not intended for you, or interfere with
   the site's operation; submit anything through our forms that is unlawful, abusive, or not yours
   to send.
5. **Our content.** Everything on the site — text, essays, illustrations, the Vel Labs and Sola
   names and marks, the Sola character — is ours or used with permission, and protected by
   copyright and trademark law. Quoting a short passage with attribution and a link is fine.
   Anything more needs our written permission.
6. **What you send us.** If you write to us, apply for a role, or send feedback, you confirm it's
   yours to send and that we can use it to respond, consider you, or improve what we're building.
   We don't owe you anything for ideas you share, and we may already be working on something
   similar.
7. **Research and essays.** Our Labs essays are our views at the time of writing. They describe how
   we think, not what any product does or will do. They aren't advice, and they may change as our
   thinking does.
8. **Links.** We link to other sites. We don't control them and aren't responsible for what's
   there.
9. **No warranties.** The site is provided as is. We'll try to keep it accurate and available but
   don't promise it will be either, or that it will be free of errors or interruptions.
10. **Limitation of liability.** To the extent the law allows, Vel Labs isn't liable for any loss
    arising from your use of the site or reliance on anything on it. Nothing here limits liability
    that can't be limited by law.
11. **Privacy.** How we handle your information is covered by our Privacy Policy (`/privacy`),
    which forms part of these terms.
12. **Changes.** We may update these terms and will note the date at the top. Continuing to use the
    site after a change means you accept it.
13. **Governing law.** These terms are governed by the laws of India. Disputes will be handled by
    the courts in Bengaluru, Karnataka.
