We take your privacy seriously. Here’s what we collect on this website, why, and how you stay in control.
This policy covers vellabs.in and any Vel Labs research or waitlist pages. It does not cover the Sola app, which will have its own privacy policy when it launches.
1. Who we are
Vel Labs is a research and product company building personal intelligence. Our first product is Sola. When we say “we,” “us,” or “Vel Labs,” we mean [Vel Labs legal entity name and registration], based in Bengaluru, India. We are the data fiduciary (under Indian law) and data controller (under most other laws) for information collected through this website.
2. What we collect
We collect very little, and only what you give us or what your browser sends automatically.
- Waitlist: your email address, and the date you joined.
- Contact and applications: your name, email, and whatever you write to us. If you apply for a role, anything you attach.
- Analytics: pages visited, approximate location (country/city), device and browser type, referring site. We use [analytics provider] and do not collect IP addresses in a form we can tie to you.
- Cookies: only what’s needed to remember your preferences on this site. No advertising cookies. See section 8.
We do not collect voice, conversation, or any Sola-related data through this website.
3. How we use it
- To email you once when Sola is ready, if you joined the waitlist — and nothing else, unless you opt in to more.
- To reply when you write to us.
- To consider you for a role, if you applied.
- To understand how people use the site so we can improve it.
- To keep the site secure.
We do not use website data to train models.
5. How long we keep it
- Waitlist emails: until Sola launches and we’ve sent you the note, or until you unsubscribe — whichever is first. Then deleted within 30 days.
- Contact messages: 12 months, then deleted.
- Applications: 12 months after the role closes, unless you ask us to delete sooner.
- Analytics: aggregated after 14 months; individual records deleted.
6. Your rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to:
- tell you what we hold about you;
- correct it;
- delete it;
- stop using it for a particular purpose;
- send you a copy in a portable format.
Write to [privacy email] and we’ll respond within 30 days. You can leave the waitlist anytime using the link in any email we send.
7. Regional rights
India — Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. Vel Labs is a data fiduciary. You may withdraw consent, request correction or erasure, and raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer (section 10). You may also nominate someone to exercise these rights on your behalf.
EEA and UK — GDPR. Our legal bases are consent (waitlist), legitimate interests (site security and analytics), and contract (applications). You may complain to your local supervisory authority.
California — CCPA/CPRA. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context advertising. You have the right to know, delete, correct, and not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
9. Security
The site is served over HTTPS. Data is stored with providers that use encryption at rest and in transit, and access is limited to the people who need it. No system is perfectly secure; if there’s a breach affecting you, we will tell you.

11. Children
This site is not directed at anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children. If you think a child has given us their details, tell us and we’ll delete them.
12. Links to other sites
We link to our social profiles and, occasionally, to other people’s work. Their privacy practices are their own.
13. Changes
We’ll update this page when our practices change and note the date at the top. If a change materially affects you, we’ll email the addresses on our waitlist.
